NYPD Finds Backpack Matching One Carried by UnitedHealthcare CEO’s Killer

A backpack matching that of the suspect who killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, 50, was found in Central Park on Wednesday.

The New York City Police Department “found a gray backpack that matches the bag belonging to the person responsible for the murder of health insurance executive Brian Thompson, according to people familiar with the matter,” Bloomberg reported. reported.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenney said that after the suspect shot and killed Thompson, he rode his bike through the park and “exited the bike off 77th Street.”

The discovery of the backpack, if identified as belonging to the suspect, would add to the evidence the NYPD has amassed since the shooting occurred.

Early Friday morning, Breitbart News reported that New York City police found a protein bar wrapper and a water bottle near where Thompson was killed, and are conducting a DNA test on the wrapper and a fingerprint search on the bottle. It was reported. Other physical evidence publicly mentioned were shell casings and live ammunition found at the scene with the words “defense,” “denial,” and “abandonment” written on them.
