NZD/USD Update
The NZD/USD has experienced a rise for two consecutive days, currently trading near 0.5660 during Asian hours on Tuesday. The daily chart’s technical analysis indicates that the price remains trapped within a descending channel, suggesting a continued bearish sentiment.
This currency pair is still trading below both its 9-day and 50-day exponential moving averages, which reinforces that bearish outlook in the short term. At the moment, while the pair approaches its recent lower range, the 14-day Relative Strength Index (RSI) is just above the oversold mark at 32. This indicates ongoing downward pressure but hints that the market might be nearing a fatigue point rather than outright surrender.
Should the NZD/USD retreat, the initial support could be around the lower boundary of the descending channel at approximately 0.5600, followed by the significant low of 0.5580 set in November 2025. A drop below this support area would likely intensify the bearish outlook, pushing the pair to test levels not seen since March 2020, around 0.5485.
Conversely, if the pair experiences an upswing, it might test the significant resistance at the 9-day EMA around 0.5684, followed by the upper limit of the descending channel near 0.5740. Additional resistance is expected at the 50-day EMA, which sits at 0.5806.
