Barack and Michelle Obama Address Divorce Rumors

Barack Obama and Michelle Obama discussed rumors regarding their marriage during a podcast on Wednesday. The speculation intensified after Michelle notably missed the inauguration funerals for the late President Jimmy Carter and Donald Trump earlier this year. During the conversation, Michelle stated she never considered divorce.

As Barack entered the room, he made a lighthearted comment, saying, “She took me back!” He added humorously, “It was tough for a while.” Michelle’s brother, Craig Robinson, co-hosting the podcast, mentioned how nice it is to see them together in one space.

Michelle explained that the absence of their public appearances often leads people to think they might have separated. She shared, “There was never a moment in our marriage where I thought about quitting. We faced struggles together, but we also had plenty of fun times and adventures. I’ve actually become a better person because of him.”

Barack, visibly moved, responded, “Don’t make me cry now,” as the sentiments deepened. Michelle also brought up a previous mention of the societal pressures women face when making choices. She noted that people often assume her decisions reflect a troubled marriage and that they couldn’t fathom her making choices independently.

In a separate podcast appearance in June, she reflected on her family dynamics, expressing relief that they only have daughters, saying, “I’m so happy there were no boys because he was Barack Obama.”
