Tragic Discovery at Montauk Yacht Club
The first witnesses to find the body of Manhattan fashion designer Marsanolang Osratara at Montauk Yacht Club described a scene of confusion and panic. They reported that he and his friends had been fast asleep when chaos erupted around midnight on Tuesday.
One eyewitness, who chose to remain anonymous, recalled hearing screams that pulled them from sleep. “We woke up to someone shouting and saw the boat owner running down the dock in a state of panic,” he recounted.
“Someone was screaming and banging against the side of our boat. He even threw sunscreen at us to wake us up,” the witness said, still shaken. “He was running around naked, shouting, ‘Do something!'”
When they approached the boat, they found Nolan Osratara unresponsive and called 911.
Suffolk County police indicated that bystanders tried to help the well-known designer before paramedics arrived, but it was determined that the 33-year-old, originally from Ireland, had already died.
The 911 caller and other Yacht Club members were unfamiliar with Osratara, who had made a name for herself in the fashion world. The authorities noted there were no signs of violence on her body, though they haven’t ruled out foul play and are continuing their investigation.
Sources have mentioned that the boat owner has another boat at the marina.
Nolan Osratara made the move from her small Irish town of Carlow to Manhattan in 2018. She began her career serving bottles in Soho before launching her swimwear line, East X East.
In recent years, she gained traction in the Hamptons, holding pop-up events that drew upscale customers from Montauk and nearby resorts.
“Montauk has a short season,” noted a local businessman. “You really have to be confident, especially when you only have so much time to make a profit.”
“It was clear to me she was ambitious and had her sights set high,” the businessman added. “She gave off this vibe of being a young woman with a strong vision.”
Osratara’s untimely death has left many in the East End unsettled, while others seem to carry on. A vacationer, who only identified themselves as allies, mentioned that they weren’t dwelling on the event too much. “We’re here to relax,” they shared.
Local teenager Travis Fisher commented on the shock of her death, saying, “It feels strange. We’re trying to enjoy ourselves, but it definitely weighs on you sometimes.”
