Observers share accounts of Disney World death following third fatality in a month.

Witnesses recounted a tragic scenario at the Walt Disney World Resort hotel, where a guest lost his life, prompting immediate action from Florida police and emergency responders.

Matthew Cohn, 28, passed away at the Contemporary Resort on Thursday, marking the second death at this location in less than two weeks and the third fatality at the Orlando resort this month.

The exact cause of Cohn’s death remains unclear.

Law enforcement set up a perimeter around the Contemporary Resort Hotel by Bay Lake Tower, with numerous officers present. A video shared on social media captured some of the scene.

“We woke up to a significant police presence outside our balcony this morning,” shared one user. “I was told it was a ‘medical emergency.’ Sending prayers to everyone involved!”

Another guest reported witnessing the victim receiving CPR, while some commenters expressed their concerns online.

“We’re not sure if he fell or jumped. They knocked on our door, advising us not to look out the window because of a medical emergency. We didn’t check further when we left for the park. It’s just such a sad situation for everyone,” recounted a guest staying at the hotel with family.

Some hotel staff were positioned at windows to deter guests from witnessing the unfolding events outside, according to reports.

Various items like scaffolding and towel carts were used to obstruct views, and white tents were set up in the vicinity.

A significant number of emergency vehicles, including police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances, were present, and certain entrances to Bay Lake Tower were restricted.

Emergency personnel cleared the resort by 1 p.m., as reported by guests.

Both the coroner’s office and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) have not responded to inquiries for information.

The recent death comes shortly after the tragic suicide of 31-year-old Summer Equitz, who passed away at the same resort just days ago.

The Naperville, Illinois resident traveled to Florida without informing her family, and her body was discovered at the hotel on October 14th.

Additionally, another guest died on Tuesday at Walt Disney World Resort, not far from the Contemporary. A man in his 60s reportedly died after experiencing a medical issue at the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground area.
