Ocasio-Cortez says Trump admin trying to 'overwhelm' with 'constant' developments

Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (DN.Y.) said the Trump administration on Tuesday aims to “overwhelm” the public with “continuous” development. Instagram Live.

“If you're watching the news right now, I want you to understand that you're overwhelmed by the constant headlines and developments and what's going on,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

“First of all, know that you're not alone, and secondly, know that's exactly what this administration is trying to make you feel.”

President Trump has signed a flood of executive orders focused on wiping out birthright citizenship, deportation, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts.

Ocasio-Cortez compared Trump's actions to those of a budding, authoritative administration.

“What the authoritarian regimes are trying to do is try to do what they often know as “Zone Flood,”” she told followers, with the goal being “so many things at once.” It's about doing… you feel overwhelmed and paralyzed.”

New York State Senators accused Republicans of trying to guide them around a “passive state.”

Instead of suffering from new developments and rapid changes, Ocasio-Cortez urged viewers to stand up to the nation's leaders.

“You have to give it a try. You don't want to hear, 'Oh, you can't do that. It's not possible.' It's called consent in advance,” she said.

“So when your mind says, 'It's all over, we too,' no, no. …Don't be discouraged by a temporary defeat. Anyway, I'll continue. When we are merciless, they get tired. They can hold this for a long time. ”

Ocasio-Cortez aims to restructure Trump and the federal government and corresponding institutions after he took office, targeting senior officials, including Elon Musk and others in social media posts.
