Odds for the next Cardinals coach: Vance Joseph and Brian Flores are the frontrunners in a competitive field.

Odds for the next Cardinals coach: Vance Joseph and Brian Flores are the frontrunners in a competitive field.

This offseason, the NFL coaching carousel is set to make a notable stop in Arizona.

The Cardinals are on the hunt for their fourth head coach in just eight years, having let go of Jonathan Gannon after a disappointing record of 15-36 over three seasons.

During his time in Glendale, Gannon struggled to find success and was unable to lead Arizona to the playoffs.

With Gannon’s exit, a number of candidates are now on the Cardinals’ radar. Interestingly, unlike other teams in search of a new head coach, there isn’t a clear frontrunner for the job at State Farm Stadium.

Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph and Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores are seen as co-favorites, both having odds of +500. However, there’s nothing particularly distinguishing them from the other leading options.

Arizona Cardinals Next Coach Odds

Candidate Odds
Vance Joseph +500
Brian Flores +500
Clint Kubiak +600
Mike McCarthy +700
Lou Anarumo +700
Joe Brady +700
Chris Shula +700
Mike LaFleur +800
John Harbaugh +800
Drew Petzing +800

It’s not surprising that Joseph is among the top candidates—he has connections to the organization from his time as defensive coordinator under former coach Kliff Kingsbury.

Flores, meanwhile, recently became the defensive coordinator for Minnesota but is also involved in a lawsuit against the NFL and three teams, which adds an interesting layer to his candidacy.

There’s also Seahawks offensive coordinator Clint Kubiak, who is just behind the leaders with odds of +600, along with some recognizable names like Mike McCarthy (+700), Joe Brady (+700), and Chris Shula (+700).

John Harbaugh, who was just let go, might be a favorite for the Giants but carries +800 odds for the Arizona position.

Other Notable Names

Additional names to watch include Matt Nagy (11/1), Todd Monken (12/1), and Robert Saleh (20/1). For those looking for a real long shot, Phillip Rivers is out there at 50/1.
