Odell Beckham Jr. Faces Suspension in NFL
Odell Beckham Jr. has set his sights on returning to the NFL by 2025. However, if he secures a contract this year, he will need to sit out for at least six weeks due to a suspension.
During a recent episode of the “Pivot Podcast,” the three-time Pro Bowler revealed that he has agreed to a six-game ban. This suspension comes as a result of a 2024 infraction related to the NFL’s performance-enhancing drugs policy.
Beckham, who played for the Miami Dolphins last season, expressed that he was unaware of using any banned substances. He raised questions about a positive test, stating that he was told his “testosterone levels” were “too high.”
On Tuesday, the NFL updated its official transaction list to include Beckham’s six-game suspension, making week 12 the earliest he can return to play.
Beginning his career with the New York Giants, Beckham was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2019. He has recently reminisced about his time in New York, asserting, “I never wanted to leave the New York Giants.”
Having experienced a Super Bowl victory with the Los Angeles Rams after the 2021 season, Beckham faced challenges after suffering a torn ACL during Super Bowl LVI, which kept him sidelined for the following season. He later signed with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023 before a brief stint with Miami.
In his recent interview, Beckham mentioned the Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers, and his former teams, the Giants and Rams, as interested parties for his potential signing. Throughout his career, he has recorded 7,987 receiving yards with a total of nine receptions for 55 yards in 2024.
