A non-service NYPD officer was injured in the foot in a shooting in Queens Sunday morning, according to law enforcement sources.
Two men were taken into custody after a warning was issued about the shooting at the intersection of 43rd and 21st Streets around 6:30am.
The Green BMW Coupe was found on Astoria’s Roads 31 and 21st Avenue, with bullet holes in the windshield.
The injured officer, who was not immediately identified, was taken to a nearby hospital and listed in stable condition.
The two suspects, both wearing black clothes and blue surgical masks, escaped the scene in a grey Nissan sedan, sources said.
Two Nissan men were later seen being detained near the scene.
Filming took place outside the Shot Spotter Zone, where acoustic sensors are located to identify and locate the shooting.
