Breitbart’s Alex Marlowe Discusses UK Speech Control Efforts

On Thursday’s episode of “Stinchfield Tonight” on Real America’s Voice, Alex Marlowe, the editor-in-chief of Breitbart, discussed the British government’s campaign aimed at controlling speech and targeting American news outlets like Breitbart.

Marlowe highlighted Morgan McSweeney as a key figure behind this initiative. He described McSweeney as one of the most influential non-elected officials in the UK, working closely with Prime Minister Keir Starmer. He noted that efforts to suppress certain viewpoints began well before Starmer took office. According to Marlowe, Starmer has been trying to leverage government power to diminish dissenting voices, particularly those aligned with his political rival, the far-left Jeremy Corbyn. While he acknowledges Corbyn’s populist appeal, Marlowe expressed confusion over his stances on issues like Israel and big government, stating that Starmer’s actions aim to quiet both Corbyn’s supporters and conservative factions. Breitbart, he claimed, has consistently been a primary target for such censorship, a trend that has persisted for the last decade. With Biden now president, he stated there is little the Trump administration can do to intervene.

Marlowe credited investigative journalist Paul Holden, who authored a book titled “The Fraud,” for shedding light on McSweeney’s orchestration of this widespread anti-speech strategy aimed at silencing American media in Britain. He admitted that he doesn’t fully align with Holden’s views but praised the quality of the reporting.

Furthermore, Marlowe expressed anticipation for reactions from figures like Nigel Farage, Congressman Jim Jordan, and other House Republicans. He expects them to pressure the UK government to change course and rectify this situation.
