Sean Strickland Escorted from UFC Event Viewing Party
Federal law enforcement intervened and escorted UFC champion Sean Strickland out of a viewing party for President Trump’s UFC event on Sunday night.
Strickland, who has openly criticized Trump’s foreign policy, was attending the gathering on the Ellipse near the White House when officers arrived. The U.S. Park Police informed TMZ that they responded around 7 p.m. after receiving reports of a disturbance allegedly triggered by Strickland’s presence without an invitation. Officers expressed concerns for his safety due to the crowd’s escalating chaos and quickly took him back to his hotel.
The Park Police stated that Strickland was advised not to return for his own safety. They clarified that he wasn’t cited or arrested, but Strickland viewed the situation differently.
He shared several videos on Instagram, including one that seemed to be filmed from the back of a police vehicle. Strickland mentioned he was “pretty sure” he hadn’t broken any laws.
“I’m pretty sure I didn’t break a law — but I might be going to jail,” he said with a chuckle while appearing to be transported. “Hopefully, the cops are nice to me.”
In another clip, he jokingly suggested, “I may have been charged with disorderly conduct — I don’t know what that is, but it sounds cool.”
The event hosted by Trump marked the first UFC gathering held at the White House, with the Freedom 250 fights taking place on the South Lawn. Strickland has voiced strong opinions about Trump’s ties to Israel, suggesting they conflict with the “America First” stance. Back in February 2025, he tweeted about his frustrations, stating, “Man if Trump keeps this bs up I’m about to start waving a Palestinian flag… Did we make a mistake?! This ain’t America First.”
He also declared that he stopped supporting Trump after the president ordered airstrikes on Iran in 2025. Although Strickland claimed he was banned from the White House event, UFC CEO Dana White denied this assertion on June 9.
