FBI Seizes $40 Million Motorcycle Linked to Fugitive Ryan Wedding

FBI officials in Los Angeles report that they have confiscated a motorcycle valued at $40 million, which is thought to have belonged to Ryan Wedding, a former Olympic snowboarder from Canada and now a fugitive. In December, Mexican authorities detained several individuals related to Wedding’s operations.

The seizure was publicized through social media on Wednesday, occurring over a month after Wedding was indicted on new charges. The FBI has elevated the reward for information leading to his capture to $15 million.

“Mexican authorities executed multiple search warrants this month, resulting in the recovery of numerous motorcycles estimated to be worth around $40 million, all believed to be owned by Ryan James Wedding, who ranks among the FBI’s ten most wanted fugitives,” stated the release.

He is sought for allegedly leading a cross-border drug trafficking network and is implicated in several murders connected to these drug crimes. The U.S. is offering a substantial reward for info that leads to his arrest and conviction.

Wedding, who is 44 years old, is among 15 other suspects charged with orchestrating the murder of a witness shot at a Colombian restaurant in January 2025. Authorities allege that Wedding placed a bounty on this victim, believing that her death would help him evade legal repercussions.

The FBI has labeled Wedding as an “extremely violent criminal,” suggesting he is responsible for many murders internationally.

“You can’t be a drug lord and think you can evade justice,” said FBI Director Kash Patel. He drew comparisons between Wedding and notorious figures like Pablo Escobar and El Chapo Guzman. The FBI, alongside Canadian officials and global counterparts, aims to bring Wedding to justice.

Wedding is accused of overseeing large cocaine trafficking operations from Colombia and Mexico into the U.S. and Canada, utilizing cryptocurrencies to conceal his financial empire. Authorities assert he has ordered numerous murders throughout North America and Central and South America.

While Wedding did not compete in the 1998 Olympics, he did participate in the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics, which marked his only appearance at the Games.
