Ian Eagle described it as “a grown man’s jam” and it was exactly that.
Late in the fourth quarter of the Knicks’ 118-115 win over the 76ers on Thursday night, OG Anunoby’s posterization of Joel Embiid shook the Wells Fargo Center, and MSG broadcaster Mike Breen and TNT This led to a strong call from Ian Eagle.
The one-handed slam put the Knicks up 109-101 with 2:43 left in the game and was one of the night’s iconic moments.
Anunoby received a pass from Donte DiVincenzo outside the 3-point line, drove to the basket and dunked in mid-air over the Sixers star.
“Anobee with a grown man’s jam!” Eagle shouted over the TNT broadcast.
“Anunoby drives and throws down and fouls!” Breen called into the MSG network. “OG Anunoby has a chance to make a three-point play.”
Although the game wasn’t over at that point, the play was memorable and Knicks fans couldn’t help but post the moment on social media.
