A missing 5-year-old boy in Ohio has been found dead, and his adoptive mother has been arrested and charged with murder, the Columbus Police Department announced at a press conference Friday morning.
Darnell Taylor has been missing since Wednesday, and police feared for his safety after his adoptive mother, Pammy Mae, 48, woke her husband in their Columbus home to tell him the boy was injured. . “The investigation has reached a critical point. We have very disappointing news,” Chief Elaine R. Bryant said at a news conference.

Bryant said police cannot release details about the boy’s death because the case is currently a homicide investigation.
