The Ohio Medical Board recently voted to reinstate Shelly Tenpenny’s license after she agreed to pay a $3,000 fine and cooperate with investigators.

Tenpenny is an Ohiopathic physician who was licensed in Ohio in 1984. She gained national attention in 2021 when she testified before a state legislative committee in support of a bill that would block vaccination and mask mandates.

In his remarks, Tenpenny claimed that the COVID-19 vaccine magnetizes the recipient and “interfaces” with base stations, interfering with women’s menstrual cycles.

Soon, about 350 complaints about Tenpenny were filed with the medical board. Medical boards regulate doctors and can discipline doctors who make false or false medical statements. An investigation was launched, but Tenpenny refused to meet with investigators, answer written questions, or comply with a subpoena to appear at a deposition.

Tenpenny’s license was suspended in August 2023 for failing to cooperate with the investigation. Her lawyer had told the committee that she would not participate in “illegal fishing expeditions.”

The board voted 7-2 last month to reinstate her license, with supporters saying she met the requirements for reinstatement.

Tenpenny announced their return in a post on the X social platform.

“Stand strong and firm!” she wrote. “Thank you for your continued love and support, but most importantly for your prayers during this difficult time.”
