An Ohio mother has been sentenced to life in prison without parole after pleading guilty to killing her 16-month-old daughter. Prosecutors allege that her daughter was left alone in her home in a playpen for 10 days while her mother was vacationing in Detroit. Puerto Rico.

“Mr. Candelario returned and found Jaylynn unresponsive and called police. Cleveland Police and Cleveland Fire Department responded to the scene, where Jaylynn was pronounced dead,” the statement said.

“An investigation conducted by CPD’s Homicide Unit revealed that Mr. Candelario left the child alone from June 6th to June 16th while he vacationed in Detroit, Michigan, and Puerto Rico. “Jaylin was extremely dehydrated at the time of her death,” the department added. “Jaylin was found in a pack-n-play enclosure with a soiled blanket on a liner soiled with urine and feces.”

Candelario pleaded guilty in February to one count of aggravated murder and one count of child endangerment.
