Ohio Nurse's Aide Katrin Blayney Marks the Death of Charlie Kirk

Reactions to the Assassination of Charlie Kirk

Catlyn Blaney, a nurse aide at MetroHealth in Cleveland, Ohio, reacted to the shocking assassination of Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, by exclaiming “Charlie Kirkdown!” accompanied by party horns and festive emojis.

This response caught attention as it came in the context of a hospital patient who seemed to celebrate Kirk’s tragic end on Wednesday.

A spokesperson from MetroHealth commented, stating, “Following the recent shootings involving Charlie Kirk, there have been personal social media posts from employees that clash with the values of public health organizations.” They further emphasized that MetroHealth stands firmly for compassion, dignity, and respect in their operations.

When asked about Blaney’s employment status at the hospital, MetroHealth mentioned they could not provide comments on HR matters.

Interestingly, it appears Blaney’s Instagram account has been deleted following the incident.

In a broader context, several educators across the nation have openly shared their gruesome celebrations regarding Kirk’s assassination online.

This situation draws attention to the very issues that Turning Point USA has highlighted over the years. Disconcertingly, the reactions from professionals in the medical field, who are supposed to support people at their most vulnerable, raise serious concerns about how they might be handling their responsibilities.

On the day of the assassination at Utah Valley University, Kirk had been fielding questions about transgender shooters. The alleged shooter, Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested soon after, reportedly having a transgender partner.

Notably, inscriptions found on Robinson’s ammunition referenced the song “Bella Ciao,” which is known within Antifa circles.
