Burglary at Cleveland Browns Quarterback’s Home
The Sheriff’s Office in Medina County, Ohio, reported that three masked individuals broke into the home of Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders on Sunday, stealing around $200,000 worth of property.
According to a statement from the department, surveillance cameras captured footage of the suspects moving through various areas of the house. They were recorded wearing masks and gloves while leaving with multiple items from Mr. Sanders’ home at approximately 6:58 p.m.
It’s estimated that the stolen property is valued at about $200,000.
An officer’s report indicated that the victim, Sanders, had requested that the incident not be made public if possible.
The report described the suspects ransacking bedrooms and searching through nightstands and closets. They even used cell phone flashlights to navigate the house. Investigators noted that video footage showed the trio leaving the premises with several bags before disappearing into nearby woods.
Sanders, who just made his NFL regular season debut during a game that day, was substituted in the Browns’ match against the Baltimore Ravens following a concussion to starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel. In that game, Sanders completed 4 of 16 passes for 47 yards and one interception.
Home invasions targeting notable athletes have unfortunately been on the rise, especially during games. Last season, other well-known players, including Joe Burrow of the Bengals and Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs, faced similar situations.
Travis Kelce, Mahomes’ teammate, was also a victim during a game day incident. Four suspects were arrested in that case, and photos of them with the stolen items were made public.
