Tragic Death of Ohio Man in Puerto Rico
A 35-year-old man from Ohio, Tyler Wilkin, was found dead in Puerto Rico under concerning circumstances, reportedly shot execution-style. He had moved to the island in 2024.
Wilkin’s body was discovered earlier this month, revealing a single gunshot wound to the back of his head. Friends and family mentioned he had been camping at Playa La Selva, a quiet beach near Luquillo.
Prior to his death, he texted friends from his campsite, expressing unease about hearing strange barking sounds and what he thought were fireworks outside his tent.
The following night, Wilkin sent another concerning message, indicating that the eerie howling had returned. Just two hours later, he mentioned that “things were getting rough.” His girlfriend, Iva Mo, shared these details with local media.
His family is demanding answers and starting fundraising efforts to cover the costs of hiring a private investigator to look deeper into the case.
Wilkin is remembered fondly by his loved ones. In a recent tribute, it was noted that he enjoyed various outdoor activities, always cherishing the time spent with friends and family. He is survived by his parents and four siblings.
Local authorities, as well as the Puerto Rico police, are currently conducting an investigation into this tragic incident. The loss of Tyler Wilkin leaves a significant impact on those who knew him and underscores the urgent need for answers regarding his death.
