The Ohio teacher was placed on administrative leave after a student's family reported that educators had appeared at home claiming their homework disappeared.
The teacher appeared at the student's home Wednesday without notice, demanding that the child grab a missing homework assignment, the family said.
During the interaction between the teacher and the student, parents arrived at the home and confronted the teacher on the front porch.
Teachers at Hull Prairie Intermediate School (HPI) will be on leave after the results of the investigation, a Perrysburg school official said in a statement.

Parents later emailed school administrators to notify the incident, and teachers departed the next day. Police have also begun investigating the incident.
“While there is only a limited amount of what can be shared with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and ongoing police investigations, please pose most seriously on student safety concerns,” Perrysburg School Principal Thomas Hossler said in a message to the families.
“The happiness of our students remains our number one priority and we are fully working with law enforcement,” Hosler continued.

The district is ” committed to maintaining a safe, respectful and supportive environment for all students,” Hossler said, adding that staff are expected to “maintain professional boundaries” and “execute sound judgments” in accordance with legal, professional and ethical responsibilities.
Hosler said the district will take action if staff behaviour does not match those standards.
The district follows all necessary procedures outlined in the Ohio State Revision Code and the applicable collective bargaining agreement, he noted.

“These procedures are crucial to following the appropriate process, protecting the integrity of the investigation and maintaining the district's ability to take appropriate action in response to the incident,” Hosler said.
He continued, “We are grateful to our families for reporting this concern immediately and allowing them to act immediately. We encourage all students and families to speak up whenever they have concerns about staff behaviour and to be dealt with immediately. We appreciate your patience and understanding as this investigation continues.
