Former NFL running back O.J. Simpson has died, his family announced. He was 76 years old.
“On April 10th, our father, Orental James Simpson, passed away after a battle with cancer,” they wrote to X.
He died surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

After Simpson was arrested in June 1994, he was embroiled in a murder trial. He was 46 years old at the time.
His “trial of the century” ended on October 3, 1995, when he was acquitted of the 1994 murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.
