OJ Simpson’s brain won’t be donated for CTE research

O.J. Simpson’s brain will be incinerated without being examined, the Post reported.

The killer and former NFL great’s body is scheduled to be cremated in Las Vegas on Tuesday, but his estate says there are no plans to donate his brain for research despite multiple requests from scientists. a representative told the Post.

Malcolm LaVergne, his longtime attorney and executor, said he signed all the paperwork for Simpson’s cremation, but there is no question whether the former running back suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). Violent behavior is one of the common symptoms of CTE.

“Everything is wild with O.J., but we got a call from a medical center doing CTE testing asking for O.J.’s brain. . . That’s not happening,” Lavergne said.

“I might talk to the kids, but I haven’t heard anything so that’s not possible. OJ wants his whole body cremated. May his children do what they see fit.

Simpson passed away on Thursday after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was 76 years old.

Mr Lavergne said Mr Simpson’s four children would still need to sign cremation papers and wanted an “agreement”.

Doctors also signed the death certificate and paperwork for Simpson’s cremation, and additional documents are expected to be finalized on Monday, the attorney said.

“Tuesday is exactly as predicted… the day he will actually be cremated,” Lavergne said. “That’s what O.J. wanted. That’s what O.J. wanted, and that’s what the kids are telling me.”

He declined to discuss plans for what the Simpson children would do with his ashes.

An official who answered the phone at Las Vegas’ upscale Palm Mortuary said Simpson’s body was at Palm Southwest Crematorium.

“There are no concrete plans for the funeral at this time,” LaVergne said. “However, a celebration of his life of service may be held at a later date, exclusive to Mr. Simpson’s close friends and family.”

The Diocese of Orange in Southern California, which manages Ascension Cemetery, where Nicole Brown Simpson is buried, said, “We have not received any communication from the Simpson family regarding funeral services or burial at any of our Catholic cemeteries,” spokesman Brad said. Li Jinto said.

“I hope Goldmans gets zero, nothing,” LaVergne said. “Especially them. And as executor or personal representative, I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure they don’t get anything.”
