Oklahoma fisherman reels in 95-pound catfish

A 95-pound catfish recently caught by an Oklahoma fisherman turned into a giant treat.

Bradley Courtright was fishing in southeastern Oklahoma when he caught the massive catfish, according to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC), who explained in a Facebook post on Tuesday that the fish was caught on a trotline, a common method of catfish fishing.

“Bradley Courtright caught this massive 95 pound flathead catfish using a trotline in Pine Creek Reservoir,” the post reads. “Bradley’s catch is the largest flathead catfish ever caught in Pine Creek!”

“This fish is about 20 pounds larger than the rod and reel record but 11 pounds smaller than the unlimited division record, caught on a trotline at Wister Reservoir in 1977,” the post added.

“[Released] “Into hot oil,” the Oklahoma resident joked.

“Maybe it was covered in cornmeal. Must have been some good fried fish! Looks yummy,” added another commenter.
