When he approached the car and spoke to the driver, he discovered that the driver did not speak English and was of Asian descent. A roadside interview using certified translator Sgt Stone was able to detect deceptive behavior that led male individuals to believe they were more involved in criminal activity than observed traffic violations.
The driver claimed he recently moved to Oklahoma City, and on his way to North Carolina he planned to fly to his destination after renting a car to Dallas, Texas.
The sheriff continued:
Eventually, sheriff K9 Bobby was deployed to the vehicle, giving a positive alert to the drug smell on the vehicle's trunk. A possible cause of vehicle search was conducted, and the interior of two large suitcases in the trunk was a vacuum sealed package of 62 pieces of black market marijuana totaling over 54 pounds.
The agency's post included a photo of Bobby still having marijuana in his suitcase.
Sergeant K9 was in the early morning hours this morning. Stone has measured multiple traffic stops on I-35 for vehicles heading south…
