Gordon was arrested at about 2:30 a.m.

State police reported that Gordon had an “odor related to an alcoholic beverage” on his breath, and he denied being intoxicated but refused to submit to field sobriety tests.

Gordon reportedly denied having any alcohol in the vehicle, but officers found containers.

The player was taken to the Cleveland County Jail, where a breathalyzer test showed he was over Oklahoma’s limit of 0.11 percent.

Gordon rushed for 1,732 yards and carried the ball to the end zone 21 times last year, and also had 330 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown as the Cowboys ended their season in the Big 12 Championship Game against Texas.

The school would only say it was “aware” of the arrest.
