Oklahoma teen accused of fatally stabbing his brother over a video game

Teen Charged in Brother’s Death Over Video Game Dispute

An Oklahoma teenager is in custody after allegedly calling 911 to confess that he had stabbed his brother during an argument triggered by a video game.

Police in Oklahoma City arrived at the scene of a domestic disturbance on Southeast 44th Street and Bryant Avenue around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. According to reports, the two brothers—19-year-old William Spencer and 25-year-old Nicholas Spencer—were engaged in a gaming session when things escalated, leading William to allegedly stab Nicholas.

“The caller indicated that his brother had been stabbed, and when law enforcement showed up, they found Nicholas with serious injuries,” said Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Rob Robertson.

Emergency responders rushed Nicholas to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. “It’s a very tragic story,” remarked Sgt. Gary Knight during a press briefing. “Two brothers playing video games. One got angry, and the other ended up being stabbed to death.”

After the incident, William stayed at the location. He was taken into custody, questioned, and subsequently booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center.

William reportedly confessed to being involved in the stabbing. He now faces first-degree murder charges and is held on a $10 million bail.

Authorities haven’t yet responded to requests for further information. The situation raises questions about the seriousness of disputes, even in casual settings like gaming. It’s just…hard to believe that something like this could unfold over a game.
