Oklahoma’s Brent Venables lands six-year contract extension as program’s first season in SEC looms: report

Brent Venables will likely be a part of the University of Oklahoma football program for the foreseeable future.

ESPN reported Friday that Venables agreed to a six-year contract extension after leading the Sooners to 10 wins in 2023. The deal is also expected to include a significant pay raise for the head coach.

The deal is further evidence of the university’s belief that the football program is trending in the right direction under Coach Venables as the school continues to prepare for its inaugural season in the Southeastern Conference.
