Ole Miss player mocks Lane Kiffin in TikTok over his departure for LSU

Lane Kiffin’s Departure Sparks Reactions at Ole Miss

Lane Kiffin’s abrupt move to LSU left Ole Miss fans with mixed feelings—mostly disappointment. Now, a former player is making headlines with a light-hearted jab at Kiffin.

John Seaton, a defensive tackle for Ole Miss, took to social media to poke fun at his ex-coach. He mocked Kiffin’s controversial switch to the SEC rival right before the No. 6 Rebels headed into postseason play.

In a humorous TikTok reenactment, posted on Monday, Seaton donned a Kiffin-like outfit and playfully congratulated his team for “the best season ever,” celebrating their impressive 11-1 record. He even threw in a remark about it being “the best show since 1962.”

Things took an interesting turn when his phone rang—apparently, it was LSU calling. Seaton quipped to his teammates, asking for their approval before dramatically tossing his team visor onto the grass.

Kiffin, who led the Rebels since 2020, made his big announcement on Sunday after weeks of speculation about his future and some, well, soul-searching. In a lengthy post on social media, he shared, “After much prayer and time with my family, I have made the difficult decision to accept the head coaching position at LSU.”

The 50-year-old coach expressed his desire to guide the Rebels through the College Football Playoff, but claimed that Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter wouldn’t allow it.

He insisted his choice had nothing to do with finances, yet the specifics of his seven-year, $91 million contract, one of the most lucrative in college football, might suggest otherwise.

Seaton’s satire highlights the irony many are feeling about Kiffin’s exit, which stirred up controversy and left some fans flipping him the bird as he flew off to Baton Rouge. Just days before the College Football Playoff Selection Show on December 7, Ole Miss appointed defensive coordinator Pete Golding as the new head coach.
