Olivia Munn is mourning the death of her “unexpected friend” Shannen Doherty.
In a moving eulogy, the former “Newsroom” cast member revealed he “grew deeply connected” to the late actress during her battle with cancer.
“I am truly heartbroken by the passing of Shannen Doherty,” the 44-year-old told her followers on Sunday, the day after the Charmed star passed away at the age of 53.
“I remember when I was first diagnosed with breast cancer, she bravely reached out and invited the world into her journey,” Munn recalled in the story, admitting that her subsequent friendship “didn’t make sense” because “Beverly Hills 90210” had once been “everything” to her.
“We bonded over our shared struggles and desire to help other women,” she continued, revealing the last text message she received from Doherty.
“Just a few months ago, she asked how I was doing and if there was anything she could do for me,” Mann wrote. “As always, Shanann offered me her support, even though she was in the final stages of her battle with this horrible disease.”
