Olivia Nuzzi Joins Vanity Fair After Departure from New York Magazine
After nearly 11 months since her split from New York Magazine, Olivia Nuzzi has found a new position at Vanity Fair, where she will focus on the West Coast edition. This move comes amid some public controversy involving her past reporting on Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is currently the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
In her new role, the 32-year-old Nuzzi will serve as editor for the West Coast, as stated in an announcement from the magazine. Her work will concentrate on various “events, industries, and culture in the Pacific region.”
Mark Guiducci, Vanity Fair’s Global Editor, noted in the announcement that they had been looking for new team members for about two months, emphasizing the ‘fearlessness’ required in their search. He highlighted the exceptional talent and expertise among their new hires, expressing confidence that each addition shares a love for Vanity Fair and its legacy.
Nuzzi had been without a full-time job since October 2024. She and New York Magazine parted ways following revelations concerning her relationship with Kennedy, which was deemed a conflict of interest after she covered his independent presidential campaign.
Despite ethical concerns about not disclosing her relationship with Kennedy, her reporting was found to be unbiased. This whole situation seemed to spiral into personal turmoil. In a noteworthy incident, Nuzzi had filed a protection order against her former fiancé, Ryan Lizza, claiming harassment amidst the media frenzy but later withdrew the petition.
The end of Nuzzi’s engagement coincided with her time spent with Kennedy, adding further complexity to the narrative surrounding her career and personal life.
As of now, Nuzzi has not publicly commented on her new role at Vanity Fair.
