Olympic gold medalist Kyle Snyder was arrested on Friday in Ohio, facing charges related to prostitution, according to police reports. Snyder, 29, was among 16 individuals detained following a police operation that targeted an escort service. Authorities noted that Snyder was charged with engaging in prostitution but was released at the scene.
The situation arose when police posted an advertisement for the escort service online. It appears that Snyder contacted the listed number, agreed to meet, and allegedly paid for oral sex. He is scheduled to attend a court hearing on May 19.
In other news, Snyder, who recently joined a new wrestling league launched by Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff, previously made headlines for his athletic achievements. He won a gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and a silver in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Additionally, he is a three-time world champion and has claimed three national championships while competing at Ohio State, where he was inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame in 2024.
Earlier this year, Snyder participated in the Muhamet Malo Tournament in Albania, where he secured a bronze medal in the 97-kilogram division after losing to Japan’s Arash Yoshisia.
