Olympic judo wrestler Maricet Espinosa González dead at 34

Olympic athlete and judo champion Marisette Espinosa González has died at the age of 34, the Pan American Judo Federation announced. Confirmed on Instagram on January 22nd.

Her cause of death had not been confirmed as of Thursday.

González, who represented Cuba at the 2016 Olympics, suffered a heart attack. According to TMZreported that she had surgery a few days ago, but it's unclear if that was related.

No further details were provided in the report.

The Cuban Sports University also posted about González's death.
