Glory to God!
Bruno Lobo, an Olympic kite surfer out of Brazil, saved a woman from drowning Jan. 10 off San Luis, Brazil’s coast. But my man didn’t take any credit at all — he instead issued all the glory to God for putting him in a place where he could be a hero.
“The day that God used me as an instrument to save this young woman, all honor and glory to Him,” said Lobo on Instagram, which is translated from the Portuguese language.
An orthopaedic doctor for his day job, Lobo competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics in kite surfing. He’s also a two-time champion at the Pan American Games. (RELATED: Olympics President Thomas Bach Wants To Make Things Right For Gary Hall Jr. After He Loses All His Medals In LA Fires)
Prior to the rescue happening, Lobo was training for future kite surfing competitions, doing a “last test” in the ocean at about 5:40 p.m. local time.
“It was a cloudy day, wind conditions were not the best, but I decided to test the support that had arrived, it was the first day using this material, I set the camera to record and went towards the coast,” said Lobo.
And that’s when he spotted her.
