The opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics has sparked international outrage after featuring images of drag queens based on religious and historical figures.

In between listing all the countries taking part in the Olympics, there were several performances based on French history and culture, such as a performance of the headless Marie Antoinette, the last queen of France before her execution during the French Revolution, singing while holding her severed head and donning drag-style makeup. This seemed to be a recurring theme throughout the ceremony, and was part of a large number of drag queens. Three drag queens were among the 10,000 torchbearers who relayed the Olympic torch, starting in Greece and passing through French territory to Paris.

In the new display, which opened on Friday, a cast of what appeared to be a number of performers, including drag queens and a large woman wearing a halo crown, performed a parody of “The Last Supper,” a world-famous painting by Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci depicting Jesus and the Apostles.

Many internationally known politicians, especially in the American political establishment, denounced the exhibit as a sign of the cultural decay of Western civilization.

“Men in wigs are front and center at the Olympics,” Outkick’s Riley Gaines wrote on social media. “No one is saying this group is ‘oppressed’ or ‘marginalized.'”

Tesla founder Elon Musk, who purchased the X Platform, criticized the exhibit, saying it was “highly disrespectful to Christians.”

NFL football player Harrison Butker, who has made headlines for speaking about his Catholic faith, quoted the Bible to condemn the display, writing, “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. For he that sows to his flesh, from the flesh will reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Galatians 6:7-8.”

Oli London, a former transgender influencer, described the scene as “an open mockery of Jesus’ Last Supper, with drag queens playing the roles of the disciples and a plus-size woman appearing in the middle to represent Jesus wearing a giant crown.”

“The Olympics have essentially turned into one long drag show,” wrote TikTok’s Libs, an anti-woke cultural critic. “The Olympics have gone full woke.”

“What on earth is going on at the Olympics?” writes video journalist Nick Soter. “No wonder no one watches them anymore.”

“The transnational left has a disdain for Western civilization,” wrote Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch.

“It’s crazy, opening an event with Jesus and his disciples at the Last Supper replaced by men dressed as women,” said radio host Clint Russell. “There are 2.4 billion Christians on the planet, and the Olympics seems to want to loudly proclaim to them all that they’re unwelcome right from the get-go.”

Canadian conservative commentator Harrison Faulkner asked, “What on earth is going on at the opening ceremony of the Olympics?”

Juanita Broadrick, a former nursing administrator who accused former President Bill Clinton of rape, responded to the Olympic display by saying, “Paris fell before the Olympics. This is just an extension of that.”

Financial and cultural commentator Wall Street Silver argued that it represents the worst of modern France.

“At least China showed the best of their country at the Olympics,” he noted. “France seems determined to show the worst and weakest of their country at the Olympics.”

“This may explain why so many people left Europe and immigrated to the United States,” writes Army veteran and radio host Bob Lonsberry.

Speaking at CPAC in the US, Marion Maréchal, a conservative French politician and member of the European Parliament, warned an international audience that this polarising act does not represent French people like her.

“To all Christians around the world who watched the #Paris2024 ceremony and felt insulted by this drag queen parody of the Last Supper, know that it is not France that is speaking, but a left-wing minority ready for any provocation. #notinmyname,” she wrote.
