Sacramento Kings fans are people who keep their word.
A fan posted to X that if DeMar DeRozan were to join the Kings, he would get the player’s name and team logo tattooed on his arm.
The Kings acquired the reliable scorer on Saturday in a three-year, $74 million sign-and-trade deal that also involved the Bulls and Spurs.
The user, who goes by the handle @BradleyScottD, previously posted, “If DeMar DeRozan chooses the Kings I will get his name tattooed somewhere on my body.”
He followed up his post on Friday by saying he kept his promise and posting a photo of a tattoo of the Kings logo with DeRozan’s name at the bottom.
“Promises kept. @DeMar_DeRozan,” @BradleyScottD wrote to X.
The fan’s decision seems to have been well received on social media, with many users sharing their thoughts on the decision.
“He’s living the life we wanted him to. It’s amazing!” 1 person I have writtenadding emojis throughout the post.
“Dude, this is amazing,” said another. I have written.
Some weren’t convinced this was the best idea.
“I will respect that promise, but no one is forcing you to do it.” Another person said.
DeRozan is a six-time NBA All-Star (two with the Bulls during his time in Chicago) and is expected to average 24 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists in the 2023-24 season.
DeRozan was originally selected ninth overall by the Raptors in 2009 and played for Toronto and Chicago as well as San Antonio.
DeRozan traveled to Sacramento over the weekend to meet with the team’s front office and head coach Mike Brown. According to ESPN.
The Kings are coming off back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2006, but their most recent season ended in a play-in tournament.
