The fashion world is buzzing over a curious incident.
Just a few days after Lauren Sanchez tied the knot with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos in a stunning $50 million wedding in Venice, it appears one of her bridal gowns has vanished.
According to the Italian publication Corriere Della Sera, one of Sanchez’s wedding weekend outfits has reportedly gone missing. Locals have speculated about a possible theft, but interestingly, no formal complaints have been registered.
It’s still uncertain which specific dress is missing. Some reports, like the one from Daily Mail, suggest that the custom Dolce and Gabbana pieces worn during the ceremony are accounted for.
Sanchez’s lace wedding dress took inspiration from Sofia Loren’s iconic look in the 1958 film Houseboat. This particular gown featured long sleeves, a corset bodice, a high neckline, and a mermaid skirt, complete with a decorative 180-button front.
In her words, “I wanted something that captures the moment,” she shared with Vogue. “I’m not the same person I was five years ago.” This gown reflects a shift away from what might be expected from a traditional wedding dress, according to the 55-year-old former news anchor.
Dressed in various designer outfits throughout the wedding weekend, Sanchez didn’t hold back. At an afterparty themed “Dolcenotte,” she wore a stunning Atelier Versace dress adorned with crystal mesh embroidery.
Before the main event, she wowed guests at two welcome dinners in a vintage Alexander McQueen gown paired with floral accents. On her wedding day, she began the festivities in a white Dior skirt suit accessorized with a Hermes scarf before transitioning into her ceremony gown.
For the post-wedding celebration, featuring a pajama theme, she surprised everyone in a strapless Atelier Versace number, echoing the chic vibe of the event.
In her Vogue feature, she hinted at additional planned outfits, including a corset gown inspired by the film Gilda starring Rita Hayworth. That’s quite a lineup of couture to keep track of.
