One person dead in axe attack at university in Poland

On Wednesday, a horrific incident unfolded at the University of Warsaw where a woman’s head was discovered amputated, and a man began assaulting people with an axe. Polish authorities reported that the individual was arrested after fatally wounding one person on campus.

According to a statement from Warsaw police, the attacker, a 22-year-old man, entered the university grounds around 1:40 PM local time. Tragically, one person lost their life and another sustained severe injuries, necessitating hospital treatment.

Details surrounding the incident remain under investigation, with police and prosecutors actively working at the scene. Reports indicate that the woman’s head and axe were found at the university, which adds a disturbing layer to the event.

A representative from the District Attorney’s Office mentioned that the victim was a university administrative employee, noting that security personnel were also injured and are currently in critical condition at the hospital.
