A search is currently underway for two inmates, including one previously charged with murder, who escaped from an Arkansas prison earlier this week.

Monday morning, Officials of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) discovered that Noah Rausch, 22, and Jatonia Bryant, 23, disappeared from the Dove Brussel Adult Detention Center in Pine Bluff, about 63 miles southeast of Little Rock, Arkansas.

Bryant was being held on suspicion of carrying out the death penalty in a 2023 mass shooting. Meanwhile, Rausch is being held on suspicion of burglary and property theft, and is also a suspect in a previous murder, according to the sheriff's office.

Officials said the two were “considered dangerous” and “should only be approached by law enforcement officers.”

“Both individuals are considered dangerous and should only be approached by law enforcement personnel,” JCSO said in a press release. “Every effort is being made to apprehend these suspects at this time. JCSO is working with the Pine Bluff Police Department Vice Narcotics Unit, the Arkansas State Police, and the Arkansas Department of Corrections to locate these individuals. There is.”

It is still unclear how the pair managed to escape from the prison, but police believe they did so within “the last two days”.

Pine Bluff Police, Arkansas State Police, and the state Department of Corrections are currently working with Jefferson County authorities in the search for the men.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Rausch or Bryant, or who may have helped them escape, is urged to call the Metropolitan Emergency Communications Association. 870-541-5300Lt. Terry Wingard 870-510-0395Captain Johans Branson 870-692-3376or in JCSO (870) 541-5351.
