Fewer than a quarter of Americans have a favorable view of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, a Democrat, according to an NPR/PBS News/Marist poll conducted Tuesday.
Vice President Kamala Harris’ selection of Waltz as her running mate marks an alliance with the most left-leaning candidate on her shortlist.
Pro-Israel Governor Josh Shapiro (Democrat), from the crucial state of Pennsylvania, who was seen as Harris’ second choice, was opposed by the far-left.
Walz has a history of far-left politics as governor of Minnesota and a radical congressman, and Heritage Action gives him a lifetime score of 13 percent.
The poll found that only 17% of Americans view Waltz favorably and 12% view him unfavorably — likely because the numbers are so low: 17% and 12% have never heard of Waltz before or don’t know what to think of him.
Seven things to know about Waltz’s far-left record.
In contrast, 25 percent of Americans view Shapiro favorably and 23 percent view him unfavorably. 53 percent have never heard of Shapiro or are unsure what to think of him.
