Ann Altman, the sister of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, filed a legal complaint Monday alleging that her brother routinely sexually assaulted her from 1997 to 2006.
The abuse is said to have begun when Anne, also known as Annie, was three years old and Sam was 12.

The lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.
She alleges the alleged abuse occurred “several times a week,” starting with oral sex and progressing to penetration, according to the complaint.
The plaintiff also alleges that “as a direct and proximate result of the aforementioned acts of sexual assault,” she is suffering from “severe emotional distress, emotional distress, and depression that is expected to continue into the future.” Pointed out.
Altman's younger brother has previously accused his brother of sexual assault on platforms such as X, but this is the first time he has brought the case before a judge.
Ann's attorney, Ryan Mahoney, runs an Illinois-based firm that specializes in sexual assault and harassment cases.
The complaint seeks a jury trial and more than $75,000 in damages.
Sam Altman, along with his brothers Jack and Max and mother Connie, refuted the claims in a joint statement on X.
“Annie has made deeply hurtful and completely untrue claims about our family, especially Sam,” their statement reads. “We have chosen not to respond publicly, respecting her privacy and our own. However, she has taken legal action against Sam and we will address this. I feel I have no choice but to do so.”
“All of these allegations are completely false,” the family continued, noting that “this situation has caused immeasurable pain to the entire family.”
They also claimed that their sister and daughter have “mental health issues,” who “refuse conventional treatment and violently attack family members who sincerely try to help.”
Since OpenAI launched its AI chatbot ChatGPT in November 2022, Sam Altman has become well-known around the world. The business is backed by Microsoft and was last valued at $157 billion.
OpenAI's board temporarily removed Altman from his role as CEO in November 2023, but he was quickly reappointed after pressure from investors and staff.
