OpenAI whistleblower found dead in San Francisco apartment from apparent suicide attempt

Former OpenAI employee and whistleblower Suthir Balaji was recently found dead in his San Francisco, California, apartment.

The San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner identified Balaji, 26, as the deceased, the newspaper said. san jose mercury news. The cause of death was determined to be suicide.

Balaji was found dead in his Buchanan Street apartment on November 26, a San Francisco Police Department spokesperson told the magazine. First responders were called to his home and performed a welfare check, but an initial investigation found no evidence of foul play.
