Oregon’s Dante Moore Injured in College Football Game

What started as an exciting night of college football took a concerning turn when Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore had to be carted off the field after a severe hit to the head.

The Ducks traveled down the West Coast for a significant Big Ten game against their former PAC-10 rival, the USC Trojans.

USC was ranked No. 12 in the nation, while Oregon held the No. 20 spot. A victory for either side would mean a notable shift in the rankings.

About five minutes into the second quarter, Moore saw an opening and dashed downfield, aiming for a first down. Unfortunately, as he crossed the line, he slid to give himself up but was met with a harsh tackle from USC linebacker Desman Stephens.

Stephens was penalized for targeting and was ejected, but the priority at that moment was undeniably Moore’s health.

Moore remained on the ground for an extended period while medical teams attended to him. According to reports, he wasn’t moving initially, causing quite a bit of concern among players and fans alike.

Once he was finally transported off the field in a cart, his teammates watched anxiously. Thankfully, during the broadcast, it was mentioned that Moore could move his hands and feet while being taken away, which offered some relief.

While there’s room for debate over whether Moore slid a bit too late or if Stephens could have pulled back, there was little doubt about the unsportsmanlike behavior noted on the sidelines. Stephens was spotted smiling and celebrating with his teammates while Moore was still receiving medical attention.

Former Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola stepped in for Moore and successfully led a drive that ended with a touchdown pass to wide receiver Evan Stewart. After this, Raiola made sure to honor his injured teammate.

The Ducks managed to add a field goal before halftime, taking a narrow 13-10 lead into the locker room.
