Orlando Bloom has opened up about feelings of “solitude” and “sadness” following his breakup with Katy Perry.
The actor, known for his role in “Pirates of the Caribbean,” shared a carousel of quotes on Instagram on Wednesday that originated from Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist.
One of the quotes stated, “Loneliness comes not from the lack of someone about one person, but from the inability to communicate that appears to be important to you.”
Another quote he shared was, “Even a happy life cannot be done without a measure of darkness, and the mind will lose its meaning if it is not balanced with sadness.”
This poignant post arrived just a week after reports confirmed that he and Perry had ended their relationship after almost a decade together.
A source close to the former couple mentioned, “They’re split but friendly.” They added that while Katy is understandably upset, she feels some relief considering the difficulties she has faced recently.
It’s been suggested that their relationship had been “strained for months,” with the breakup being a “long time coming.” The Daily Mail noted that the couple had a heated argument about her involvement in a Blue Origin space flight.
Shortly after the news broke, Bloom traveled to Venice, Italy, for a lavish wedding celebration for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez.
Interestingly, the day after their split was reported, Bloom was seen enjoying time in Venice, where he also casually met up with fellow recently divorced star, Tom Brady.
Perry, who’s currently on her tour in Australia, was notably absent during this time. The couple had been together since 2016 but had briefly split in 2017 before rekindling their romance in early 2018. They share a four-year-old daughter named Daisy Dove and became engaged in February 2019, welcoming their daughter in August 2020.
