Oscar Piastri’s Griddy following the Miami Grand Prix receives one major positive review

MIAMI, Fla. — On Thursday, during Media Day at the Miami Grand Prix, Oscar Piastri had a quick lesson in the Griddy dance from wide receiver Justin Jefferson.

Piastri then placed a bet on the Minnesota Vikings receiver, promising to celebrate with a Griddy if he wins the Miami Grand Prix.

After his qualifying rounds on Saturday, Piastri opted not to try out his new dance skills. Still, fortune smiled on him as he gained positions at the start of the race and pursued leader Max Verstappen, eventually claiming his fourth victory of the season in Miami.

So despite the lack of practice, it seems it’s time to honor that bet.

During the FIA press conference following his win, Piastri reflected on his Griddy attempt and acknowledged the awkwardness of the situation.

“I figured it might be tricky! As you can see, I tried my hand at the Griddy. After qualifying yesterday, I didn’t practice because I thought it wasn’t necessary. Yes, that was my first live attempt on TV for everyone to see.”

At least one sports fan found his effort commendable.

Jefferson himself.

That has to count for something, right?
