Halle Berry is an Oscar-winning actress who was born on August 14, 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio.

She starred opposite Billy Bob Thorton and Heath Ledger in the 2001 thriller “Monster’s Ball,” for which she was nominated and won the award for Best Actress at the annual awards ceremony.

Long before she became an Oscar winner, she found success in the beauty pageant arena.

Berry represented Ohio in the Miss Teen All-American contest in 1985, where she won the competition, and later competed in the Miss USA contest, where she was runner-up.

Berry began her career as a model after winning a pageant, and later moved into acting. One of Berry’s earliest roles was in the television series “Living Dolls,” which aired in 1989. Berry also appeared in numerous other television shows, including “Amen” and “A Different World.”

In 1991, Berry starred in films such as Jungle Fever, Strictly Business and The Last Boy Scout.

She continued acting in both film and television throughout the 1990s. Some of her credits include “Girl 6,” “The Rich Man’s Wife,” “The Wedding” and “Bulworth.”

Berry married former Atlanta Braves MLB player David Justice in 1993, but the couple divorced in 1997. American singer and songwriter Eric Benet married Berry in secret in 2001. She adopted his daughter India, but her mother died in a tragic car accident. They divorced in 2005.

In 2008, Berry became a mother when she announced the birth of her daughter, Nahla Ariella Obry, with her ex-husband, Canadian model Gabriel Obry.

She married French actor Olivier Martinez in 2013. The couple welcomed son Maceo Robert later that year, but divorced in 2016.

In 2000, she first appeared as Storm in the X-Men films, and continued to play the role in several subsequent films in the series.

Berry starred as “Catwoman” in the 2004 film of the same name, playing the title character who has been played by a variety of actresses over the years, including Anne Hathaway and Zoe Kravitz.

After Catwoman, Berry appeared in films such as Perfect Stranger, Lost Hearts, Frankie & Alice, Dark Tide, Cloud Atlas and The Call.

In 2014, Berry returned to television in Extant, and subsequently appeared in the films Kidnapped, Kings, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.

Berry’s most recent film appearances were in the 2020 film “Bruised” and the 2022 film “Moonfall.”
