Cut Off Funding to Universities

In a recent analysis by Nate Silver, there’s some intriguing insight into the Democratic Socialists of America—a group that’s, let’s say, enthusiastic about some radical changes, including the abolition of the Senate and Supreme Court. It seems they have gained traction not just among the highly educated but also among a different demographic altogether.

Oddly enough, it seems that those struggling with incomes below $60,000 might find themselves drawn to the achievements attributed to Mao.

This begs the question: Are universities responsible for turning less fortunate elites toward communism? Or is it that certain individuals, perhaps with Ph.D.s in queer theory, expected a smoother path to wealth and instead ended up disillusioned? It’s a curious thought. Who really knows? Maybe it’s time we reconsider university funding.

Democracy Dies in Laughter

Last week’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner was quite the spectacle, featuring President Trump in an unusual comedic groove. He bantered about Chris Christie and cheesecake, mentioned some rather colorful dictators, and even compared CNN’s Kaitlan Collins to a prominent social media figure.

The audience seemed to enjoy it. Yet, the press didn’t share the same enthusiasm, claiming Trump’s antics marked the end of the event’s significance.

Critics are now advocating for the dinner to be scrapped entirely, pointing to the president’s “bulldozing” of traditional journalism as a major concern. They expected a gathering honoring serious journalism but were instead served with humor. It’s funny, really—nobody seemed to recall when Obama and Colbert made their jokes!

An Exciting New Contraceptive Method Called “Socialism”

While socialist cities may promise a family-friendly environment, the numbers tell a different story. A recent Wall Street Journal analysis revealed that over the past decade, American cities have lost children at a rate six times greater than the national average.

Even in cities that are still seeing growth, the demographics are shifting. You have single trust-fund individuals instead of families, and many individuals stuck in place due to economic circumstances. Meanwhile, the suburbs in Texas are on the rise.

It’s clear that middle-class families are leaving urban centers, avoiding chaotic schools, especially when you consider the inflation of housing costs and the struggles of raising children in challenging environments. In such an atmosphere, groups like the DSA seem to thrive, stirring up class conflict. Unfortunately, the real solution requires investing capital—something that DSA leaders seem less fond of than their own pasts.
