of San Diego Padres Following the incredible come-from-behind win over the Arizona Diamondbacks in front of a record crowd at Petco Park on Friday night, one fan appeared to try and join in the on-field celebrations.
The Padres held a comfortable lead in front of more than 47,000 fans, but everything changed in the ninth inning. Diamondbacks In the top of the same inning, they came back from a five-point deficit to take an 8-7 lead.

“This is a game of focus and refocus. It was a tough game because we felt like we played well, pitched well, 7-2 … obviously it’s not over until it’s over,” manager Mike Shildt said after the game.

But the Padres fought back with a game-tying home run by All-Star Jurickson Profar. Manny Machado The walk-off home run sealed the victory.
“The thing about this team is we never lose our spirit. We have that spirit in us. Obviously, it was a tough ninth inning for us, but we never lose our spirit. We keep going out there and we keep fighting. That’s what this team has been doing all year,” he said after being doused with Gatorade.
Machado took his hat off to the fans as the 47,171 who showed up to Petco Park were the largest attendance in the stadium’s history.

The crowd roared as Machado returned to the dugout to celebrate with the team, while the broadcast showed enthusiastic fans running onto the field to take selfies with Machado.
For a moment, Machado appeared to be celebrating with the man, apparently unaware and caught up in the celebration, but just a few minutes later the fan was shoved to the ground by security.

It’s unclear whether any fans were arrested for invading the field, but the incident didn’t seem to be an issue for Machado.
“It was fun. This is why we play here,” he said. “This is why we play, especially playing in front of this crowd back home. … It was a great night.”
