
A Pennsylvania homeowner and neighbor, a state senator, sprung into action last week to provide life-saving care after a FedEx delivery driver collapsed in a resident’s front yard while delivering a package.
Delivery man Adonis Widner fell to the ground “like a ton of bricks” after dropping off a box in front of Mark McCullagh’s home in the Pittsburgh suburb of Bridgeville last Thursday afternoon. According to Triblive.
“He was unresponsive and not breathing,” McCullough told the outlet. “I was reaching out to the paramedics and trying my best to do what I could.”

As McCullough, 45, called 911, his neighbor, Pennsylvania State Senator Devlin Robinson, had just parked in his driveway across the street and noticed something was wrong.
“I looked down and there was a person lying on the ground in front of the house,” he said. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “So I ran over there.”
Robinson turned the worker over and tried to open his airway while the 911 operator instructed the men to perform chest compressions.
“It was the longest five minutes of my life,” McCullough told the paper. “I heard the sirens and I just hoped they would get there quickly.”
Emergency personnel were called in to help Wittner onto a stretcher after 30 minutes of working on him in the front yard.
McCullough happened to be at home to meet with a contractor — he normally goes to an office for work — and Robinson had just dropped by on a whim.
“Thanks to God [Robinson came over]”He was able to help the man breathe, and it was a very dramatic, labored breath,” Dr. McCullough told Triblive.
FedEx thanked the pair for “quickly acting to come to the aid of our team members,” according to the Post-Gazette.
The owner of the FedEx service provider said in a GoFundMe post that Whitner is conscious but that he expects it will take a long time for him to recover after his cardiac arrest.
Wittner has been working as a delivery driver for 13 years.
“He is kind, totally professional and one of our most skilled delivery drivers. In his personal life, he is passionate about cars and planes and actually holds a pilot’s license,” the post read.
