“I'm grateful for another opportunity to praise God,” said the backup quarterback who led Green Bay to a win on Sunday, and is eager to continue supporting his team on the field and off the bench for as long as needed. Packers quarterback Malik Willis, filling in for injured starter Jordan Love, completed 12 of 14 passes for 122 yards and a touchdown and ran for 41 yards in a 16-10 win over Indianapolis in Green Bay. The Packers tied their record at 1-1.
“It feels amazing,” Willis told his Fox TV audience. “I just want to thank God for this opportunity.”
He added that the Packers coaching staff “not only helped me prepare for the game, but also put me in an environment that gave me confidence and helped me perform at my best.”
When asked by Fox if he was proud of his performance, Willis replied, “I'm not proud. Obviously, I have a lot to work on and I just have to get better and keep working and see how far Jordan can go.” [health-wise] Please continue your preparations.”
Willis was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2022 out of Liberty University and then traded to Green Bay.
He professes Christian faith, and his X profile reads “Glory to God.”
“I'm thankful for another opportunity to praise God,” he said. I wrote to X On Sunday, they added “TGFE,” an acronym that stands for “Thank God for Everything.”

Willis also quoted a Bible verse in X's post: “The Lord is gracious, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who trust in him.” Nahum 1:7” he wrote.
His faith-focused comments continued in his post-match press conference.
“I'm thankful God gave me another chance, somewhere different, to start with a clean slate,” he said of the trade.
When asked why he's so excited to play in 2022, Willis pointed to his Christian faith.
“I'm blessed to be doing this. God has put me in a position where I can use my position to glorify Him, bring people closer to Him and bring joy to other people,” Willis said in an interview with Titans announcer Mike Keith. “I enjoy this game because I've been blessed with the ability, so I get to use what God has given me to impact other people and make them happy.”
