Paddy Pimblett puts on impressive 42 pounds in just a week

Newly ranked UFC fighter Paddy Pimblett made a surprising move up in weight within about a week of his impressive performance at UFC 304.

Pimblett choked out opponent Bobby Green in just three minutes and 22 seconds in the bout in Manchester, England, where he fought at 156 pounds and said he quickly gained weight back on.

Sitting with his wife in a restaurant, Pimblett admitted that on the night of the fight, just hours after his submission victory, he had eaten a roast dinner at a birthday party.

Of note, UFC 304 went past sunrise after the pay-per-view began at 3 a.m. local time in order to align with the Eastern time zone.

“I want to never weigh more than 90kg again.”

Mr Pimblett said the treat came after a one- to two-hour nap.

For breakfast, I ordered an iced tea, a chicken wrap, a breakfast wrap, two plates of curly fries, and a giant pancake topped with white chocolate, Nutella, Biscoff, and pistachios.

Pimblett was caught on camera on his way to the gym a week later after a family holiday, and his training buddies and coaches immediately noticed the sudden weight gain on his face.

“He had a meal, two desserts and ice cream on the way home,” one coach said. video.

Pimblett later spoke about how his teammates would tease him after every game.

“Maybe people will start calling me a fat bastard. It wasn’t that bad, but at the same time, it wasn’t the best. I’m still a bit overweight. I’m not as overweight as I was before, but I’m still a bit overweight,” the Liverpool native explained.

“We were eating Chinese food, Thai food, steaks, burgers and all that stuff. But I need to train, that’s the most important thing. Obviously, eating a ton of food won’t help you lose weight, but if you don’t train, you’ll gain weight,” he added.

Afterwards, friends forced her to weigh herself, and it turned out she weighed 89.8 kilograms, or about 198 pounds. A 42-pound gain in such a short amount of time is a shock, and critics have often warned Pimblett that it will only get harder to lose weight as she gets older.

In July 2023, Pimblett said he was indeed planning to slow down his eating between matches.

“Right now I weigh about 84-85kg, I’m not really watching what I eat, I’m just hobbling around at that weight, which is good,” he said. Talk Sports“I’m glad I’ve stabilized at this weight. I hope I never go over 90kg again.”

Pimblett appears to have been right in his assessment, but he also predicted he would be a ranked fighter by the end of 2024. He is currently ranked 15th in the world.

The 29-year-old explained that he tends to look fatter than he actually is because the weight seems to be concentrated in his face.

“But it’s all to my face. That’s why people call me Chris Griffin. To my face. Do you know what pissed me off the other day? Someone called me a weight class nut. ‘He’s a weight class nut’? Are you crazy?” Pimblett yelled.

Pimblett added that the next heaviest weight class, 170 pounds, was too big for him to compete against.

“It’s fucking huge!” he said.
